Overlord was created in 1983 by Branko Zugaj and Mark Platt, through many years of member changes and struggling to make it in the music industry they managed to created very identifiable and long lasting and much desired music.

 

In the early to mid 1990's Overlord had called it quits, it wasn't until the 2000-2001 when the power of the internet that fans across the world started to want more of Overlord. With all the original members busy with other things it was not possible for a reunion to happen so Branko decided to take on the project of Overlord by himself and recruit young new members with a hunger to succeed.

 

Thus in in 2009-2010 Branko found mild mannered pure shredding metal guitarist Ryan Haines, with an extensive musical background a new sound was found. Not to long after Dave (thunder) Toms came into the picture, with a deceivingly tall thin, lanky frame Dave is a pure power drummer with a wide range of styles, he fit the mold of the old and new sounding Overlord. With perfect timing and a natural feel for power and progressive metal and a witty humorous disposition he was a natural fit for Overlord.

 

The vocal position was a much tougher spot to fill, after numerous auditions with several singers it almost seemed futile. By chance Branko came across a young talented vocalist who's original style caught his ear, and trying to shed the old sound for a newer modern sound Garret Alto was the man for the job. With and eagerness and a heart of a lion and an extensive musical background no one fit the bill as good as Garret.

A new band, a new sound, a new look, but still with that Overlord touch.
